Eating Pasta and Looking At Art: What Our Editor Is Loving In June
From TV shows to design trends, here's what's actually worth your time and money, writes Bed Threads Editor Rachael Thompson.
As an editor and writer who works across interior design, entertainment, lifestyle, wellness, and recipes I’m exposed daily to a lot of different things. Fun things. Homewares, events, TV shows, TikTok trends, emerging artists, and book releases cross my desk daily. I’m a design lover, an avid consumer of all things pop culture, and someone who gets major FOMO if I’m not across the latest trends, new restaurants, and must-visit exhibitions. Basically, I’m a gal who likes to try new things and be involved.
But I also know some people can be apprehensive when trying or buying new things – time and money are precious! Something might look great from the images or write up or it might be on Netflix’s trending, but does that actually equate to it being any good?
This monthly editor’s picks column is for you; to cut out some of the work you need to do to decide if something is worth your time. To give you inspiration for your weekend adventures or date night. Whether it's a captivating read to introduce to your book club, an exhibition you won't want to miss out on, a delicious recipe to impress someone special, or a new product to enhance your life, I'm going to be sharing recommendations for things that are fun, interesting, and ultimately worth it. To kick things off, here is my edit of what I’m loving in June.

Buy: Noise-cancelling headphones
I can confidently say my Sony noise-cancelling headphones are one of the best purchases I've ever made. A couple of my friends also have these headphones and we've raved about them multiple times. Whether I'm working, travelling, meditating, or sleeping (yes, I do wear these to sleep), these little guys have been with me through it all. If you're planning on hopping on a plane soon, you're a music lover, or you just want some peace and quiet, these headphones will be your new best friend.

Read: Happy Hour by Marlowe Granados
If you're on the hunt for a joyful, easy read or something to take away on holiday Happy Hour is refreshingly positive. It's about two girls who move to New York from London and the juxtaposition between their lives during the day making ends meet by selling clothes on consignment and their night lives where they run in high-class circles with film stars and intellectuals. It's eloquent, charming, and all about life well spent.
