7 Shows to Watch Next if You Can’t Get Enough of 'Daisy Jones & the Six'

For more of that ‘70s magic…

Daisy Jones & The Six is everything right now. The Prime Video series has captured our hearts – and our ears – with a soundtrack rocketing up the charts and episodes that we watch over and over again. It’s not just the amazing music, it’s the costumes and production design that eases us into the ‘70s world, the period setting and the fantastic performances from Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camilla Morrone and more. We can’t get enough of this show.

But if you want more of that Daisy Jones & The Six magic, here are a few TV series that we think are just as incredible.

1. Minx

Where can I watch it? Amazon Prime

Minx was an underrated gem of the last few years: a show about the making of a feminist magazine in the ‘70s… inside a publishing house better known for its more – ahem – adult content. Sounds like fun, right? Each episode was silly, sexy and very enjoyable, and we haven’t even started on the great costumes worn by stars Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson of New Girl fame. Never has open shirts and gold necklaces looked so good.

2. Pistol

Where can I watch it? Disney+

A television show about the making of a rock band and the collision of music with a political movement, featuring incredible costumes and period design? No, we’re not talking about Daisy Jones & The Six, but rather Pistol, the under-seen but very watchable Disney+ miniseries that premiered last year. Tune in for the amazing punk costumes and for a cast of Brit-pack rising stars including Iris Law, Maisie Williams and Tallulah Riley – as the late fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, no less.

3. The Get Down

Where can I watch it? Netflix

In 2015, Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann set about making an ambitious television series for Netflix about the birth of disco, soul and hip hop in the Bronx in the late ‘70s. His cast was incredible: a young Justice Smith, Yahya Abdul Mateen II and Shameik Moore, his production design impeccable, and the soundtrack? Insane.

4. The Serpent

Where can I watch it? Netflix

The subject matter of this Netflix true crime series about a serial killer on the loose in South East Asia couldn’t be more different to Daisy Jones & The Six. But both share a setting in the ‘70s and an incredible roster of costumes. So if you’re looking for more ‘70s vibes, this show has you covered.

5. Roadies

Where can I watch it? Amazon Prime

Roadies was the long-awaited first television show from Almost Famous director Cameron Crowe, and though it didn’t last on screens too long we still enjoyed watching it. If you didn’t catch it when it was on screens, the series follows a group of roadies as they help put on the arena tour of a lifetime for a rock band, and it captures some of the backstage energy that Daisy Jones & The Six taps into well.

6. Vinyl

Where can I watch it? Amazon Prime

A struggling record company helmed by Bobby Cannavale in a ‘70s world of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll? Sign us up. This HBO series was originally created by Martin Scorsese and features a stacked cast: Olivia Wilde, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid and Ray Romano, among others, and though the majority of the series focuses on fictional characters there are the occasional glimpses of real-life rockstars including David Bowie, Elvis Presley and Karen Carpenter. It was underrated in its time and well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.

7. I’m Dying Up Here

Where can I watch it? Paramount+

Daisy Jones & The Six follows the rising stars of the music scene in the ‘70s; I’m Dying Up Here focuses its attention on stand-up comedians. A cast of up-and-comers hope to make it in the world of comedy and book a slot on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show via stellar turns on the stage of a comedy club in Los Angeles in this series, which was executive produced by Jim Carrey.
