Why We Use Pure 100% French Flax Linen Only

It's comfortable, ultra-soft and creates a Pinterest-worthy space (with no ironing required) but those aren't the only reasons why we use 100% French flax linen exclusively for our signature bedding sets and brand new sleepwear range. Read on to learn all about why we love this natural textile so much and why we'd never use anything else.

It's quick-drying

Natural flax linen dries quickly which means that sweat won't linger in your sheets, it's antiperspirant (you can thank its moisture-wicking qualities for that) and it also means you won't have to wait days for it to dry after a wash.

It's ultra-strong

Flax Linen bedding is known for its durability; especially compared to other manchester options. With its incredible tensile strength, linen thread is twice as durable as cotton or wool and becomes 20 per cent stronger when wet meaning washing will not degrade your bedding. In fact, it'll only make your bed threads softer over time.

Retains its shape

We've all been there—you wash your sheets a few times only to realise that they're quickly losing their colour and shape soon after. Some of this is due to the fabric stretching which damages the surface of the fabric and leaves it looking flat and lacklustre. Thanks to flax linen's natural elasticity, our bed linens keeps their style and finish, and best of all, become better the more they are used and loved.

Keeps you cool (and warm)

Natural flax linen fibres are known for their heat conductivity, which means more of that body heat generated when you are sleeping is distributed to the surrounding air. This ability of flax to reduce body temperature guarantees a more restful sleep. That's not where it ends, though. Thanks to its natural temperature-regulating qualities, flax linen also keeps you warm in the cool, acting as a natural insulator, adjusting with the temperature as your body does. It's the ultimate trans-seasonal bedding solution.

Sustainable

The flax plant requires less water and fewer pesticides to produce than other manchester fibres. The entire plant is utilised, even the elements which do not feature in the production of linen, for example, the seeds are pressed to make linseed oil. Linen is a renewable resource and is both biodegradable and recyclable making it an earth-friendly choice.
