12 Exciting New Shows to Stream in November 2022

From the new season of ‘The Crown’ to the highly-anticipated ‘1899’.

October was a quiet month for new television but oh boy is the golden age of streaming back with a vengeance in November. There are so many new and returning shows coming to the small screen this month, and it’s especially good news for fans of period dramas. A new season of The Crown, starring Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, will hit Netflix, with Stan dropping their much-anticipated Dangerous Liaisons adaptation.

Are you ready for a bumper month of television? Here are 12 shows we can’t wait to stream this November.

1. The Mosquito Coast

Where can I watch it? On AppleTV+

A second season of AppleTV+’s gripping drama The Mosquito Coast will premiere this month, reuniting stars Justin Theroux with Australian actor Melissa George, as the couple at the head of a family on the run from the government – and forces unknown – in South America. They barely made it out of season one alive, and now in season two, their plight will grow ever more perilous. This show is for fans of Narcos and the original The Mosquito Coast film, which starred Harrison Ford.

2. Dangerous Liaisons

Where can I watch it? On Stan

It was adapted into a beloved 1988 film, winning three Oscars and starring Glenn Close, Michelle Pfeiffer and Keanu Reeves – now, Dangerous Liaisons will get the small screen treatment. The iconic 18th-century French novel about a pair of young lovers on the eve of the French revolution, with themes of passion, betrayal and revenge, will become a sexy miniseries on Stan this month. Alice Englert stars as Camille, a courtesan taken in by the Marquise de Merteuil (Lesley Manville), while Nichols Denton plays Vicomte de Valmont, her hot-and-cold lover. This story is a prelude to the one you would have seen in the original film or in the pages of the book, digging into the first meeting between this star-crossed pair. We cannot wait to watch this.

3. The Crown, Season 5

Where can I watch it? On Netflix

Is there a show more buzzy this month than the fifth season of The Crown? Because of the nature of this multi-Emmy award-winning franchise, which reboots its actors every two seasons, there’s been a long wait in between seasons of this show, as the new cast – which includes Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Imelda Staunton as the Queen and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret – film the new episodes. This season is the penultimate, with one more in the works from Netflix, and will follow the sordid ‘90s, when the fairytale marriage between Diana and Charles fell apart. This is the era that the Queen once called her ‘annus horribilis’. No television show month is going to be bigger than this.

4. Chivalry

Where can I watch it? On Binge

Cameron (Steve Coogan) is a film producer on the verge of ruin. Bobby (Sarah Solemani) is a feminist filmmaker he has drafted in to help ‘detoxify’ his latest movie. But what happens when the two go head to head about sex, power dynamics and gender relations on and off camera? This comedy features an incredible roster of guest actors, including Paul Rudd, Wanda Sykes, Sienna Miller, Aisling Bea and Lolly Adefope.

5. Mythic Quest, Season 3

Where can I watch it? On AppleTV+

If you love Ted Lasso, Schmigadoon or Abbott Elementary – cosy shows with great comedy chops, basically – we suggest giving Mythic Quest a try. The series will unveil the third season this month, with all episodes available to binge on AppleTV+, and it’s a totally charming look at the ins and outs of making a video game, with a fantastic cast spearheaded by Rob McElhenney and Australian actor Charlotte Nicdao.
