This Is Every Single Podcast You Need to Binge This March
The world of podcasting has truly exploded in the last few years, with thousands upon thousands of individual shows on offer for keen listeners of true crime, daily news, relationship advice and everything in between. A podcast is the perfect media to plug into while you work, clean, or commute in the morning because you're constantly learning new information and hearing about other people's life experiences. Compared to a mindless scroll through another Instagrammer's brunch, podcasts have become an important part of my day, whether I'm trying to crack an unsolved mystery or simply fall asleep. My subscriptions have been rapidly growing with the vast amount of new shows to hit our ears in the past few months, and these are the ones you can't miss.
Finally, a show that focuses on the positives of our communities and planet at large instead of participating in the constant cycle of bad news we're used to. Kind World tells us how a single act of kindness can completely change the life of someone else, as hosts and reporters Yasmin Amer and Andrea Asuaje scour the globe for the tales that'll put a smile on your face and restore your faith in humanity.
In Bed with Nick and Megan
Your fave real-life comedy couple Megan Mullally (Will and Grace) and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) have decided to bring their hilarious antics directly to your ears in their new podcast. Recorded directly from their bed (goals), these two are giving new meaning to the term pillow talk. Listen out for some recognisable voices, as the duo invite some of their famous pals such as Lisa Kudrow and Bill Hader into their boudoir for a candid chat.
This one is for the hardcore true crime fans. By now you've definitely sunk your teeth into some of the juiciest thrillers that the platform has to offer, but now's your chance to actually solve your very own case. Every episode will present you with a brand new crime (based on true events) that you'll need to investigate in order to figure out which of the four suspects is responsible. Ready to put your skills to the test?
My Millenial Career
Part of the popular My Millenial Money podcast, this spin-off show is all about, you guessed it, your career. Gurus on the topic Emily Bowen and Shelley Johnson tackle a specific topic in each of their episodes which last between fifteen and forty-five minutes. Listen in each week as the two answer all of your burning questions related to things like personal branding and how to make sure you nail your next job interview.
The 27 Club
For those who aren't familiar, The 27 Club is a list of musicians, actors, and athletes who passed away at the age of twenty-seven. It's become an eery conspiracy topic and includes the likes of Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Amy Winehouse, to name a few. In season one of the pod, host Jake Brennan focuses specifically on Hendrix in twelve half-hour episodes that track his life and inevitable death. Trust me, you'll be hooked.
Plant-based eating isn't something new. In fact, humans have been chewing on fruits and vegetables as a way to provide their bodies with energies for centuries. It is, however, a trendy topic for 2020 with more people getting on board with the benefits; partly thanks to documentaries like The Game Changers. The podcast is hosted by physiotherapist Simon Hill and features interviews with health experts, from cardiologists to neurologists.
How I Work
Ever wondered what a board director of CommBank manages stress or the way an Amazon executive approaches screen time, you'll get a kick out of How I Work. The show takes an inside look into how the world's leading entrepreneurs, creatives, and business people structure their day, where you'll be able to pick up practical tactics and tips to implement in your own life.
The rise and inevitable fall of Bill Cosby is one that played out very publicly for all to see. Known for decades as a charismatic funnyman from television, his off-screen antics were predatory and life-altering for his over sixty abuse accusers. Andrea Constad is lifting the veil of the courtroom proceedings, with recounts from prosecutors, judges, and more than a dozen survivors in this compelling podcast series.
If you've been craving more of The Office since its end in 2013 and you've already binged all of the seasons since, you're in for a treat. Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey have started their very own podcast dedicated to re-watching the show while providing you with exclusive behind the scenes tidbits and information on the cast that any true fan of The Office will lap up.
Call Your Girlfriend
Long-distance besties Aminatou and Ann rely on their weekly phone chat to catch each other up on all things politics and pop culture. Luckily for us, they record all of it with the help of their friend and producer, Gina. Nothing is off-limits in their discussions, with a focus on women who are shaking things up in their fields. It's equal parts celebrity goss and real-life experiences of normal people just trying to get through the week.
If you're more of a visual person, these are the 5 Netflix shows the Bed Threads team are obsessed with right now.
