Creating the perfect environment for optimal sleep doesn’t need to break the bank, either. Here are nine affordable and effective ways you can create the perfect space for soothing and restorative rest, night after night.

1. Find the perfect mattress

Given the average person spends around 26 years sleeping throughout their life (and seven years trying to get to sleep), it’s a good reminder that you should probably invest in a high-quality mattress.

  2. Eye mask - this can help you if you are sensitive to light

  5. Exercise, but don’t do this too close to bedtime
